The pre-admission clinic services of the Children and Women’s Health Program provides care for pediatric perioperative patients prior to the surgery/procedure date.

How to access this service
All patients who are coming to the perioperative department for an elective surgery or a procedure are eligible for a pre-admission appointment.

Pre-admission appointments are offered Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

When booked for surgery, you will then be contacted with your pre-admission appointment information.
Will my appointment be in person or virtual?
Whether you are booked for an in-person appointment or a virtual appointment is based on various factors, including, but not limited to; where you live, any pre-surgery tests required, complexity of the surgery, surgeon request, etc.
How long is the appointment?
You should plan for a one hour appointment, although it may vary.
What is this appointment for?
To provide information in preparation for surgery, such as fasting and arrival instructions and to book or complete any pre-procedural tests such as blood work and vital signs.
