Orthopedic clinic

The Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre offers orthopedic services through our ambulatory clinics. The orthopedic clinic provides comprehensive care to children and youth with medical concerns that effect their musculoskeletal system (e.g., bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles).

What we do

Musculoskeletal system is essential to movement and everyday life. It is important that children and youth have a healthy musculoskeletal system so that can be active, play sports, and have fun.

Orthopedic surgeons work to diagnosis and treatment children and youth with musculoskeletal injuries or concerns including, but not limited to:

  • Dislocated joints
  • Fractures
  • Pain
  • Scoliosis
  • Congenital or birth abnormalities such as club feet or bow leg
  • Tendonitis
  • Strains
  • Sprains

Following an assessment, your child will receive treatment (surgical and medical), education and follow-up care.

If surgery is suggested as a treatment for your child, before you leave the clinic, you and your child will receive more information about preparing for surgery.
