Surgical clinic
Surgical services for children are offered through ambulatory clinics. The surgical clinic provides comprehensive care to children and youth with a variety of medical diseases and conditions.
What we do
Pediatric surgeons provide assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with congenital and acquired diseases of the head and neck, chest and abdomen. This also includes the management of traumatic injuries, the surgical treatment of cancer and vascular access.
Pediatric surgeons work to diagnose and treat children and youth with, but not limited to:
- Disease or injury to the appendix, gall bladder, liver, bowel, stomach, or spleen,
- Tumors,
- Infections,
- Wound care,
- Congenital anomalies, and
- Multiple injuries.
Along with our urologist, we also provide care for common urologic problems such as urinary tract infections, urinary reflux, undescended testis, hernias and hydrocoeles.
Following an assessment, your child will receive treatment (surgical and medical), education and follow-up care.
If surgery is suggested as a treatment for your child, before you leave the clinic, you and your child will receive more information about how to prepare for surgery.
