The Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre offers a gastroenterology program for specialty services to children and youth throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador with concerns affecting their gastrointestinal (GI) system.
What we do
We diagnose and manage medical concerns involving the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which includes the esophagus (food pipe), stomach, bowels, liver and pancreas.
Common intestinal and liver diseases include, but are not limited to,:
- Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD),
- Crohn’s disease,
- Ulcerative colitis,
- Celiac disease,
- Constipation,
- Chronic pancreatitis,
- Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), and
- Pre/post liver transplant patients
Follow-up, support and education of the different diagnoses is offered through regular outpatient clinics.
Who we see
We provide care for children and youth up to their 18th birthday. We also help them transition to the referred adult services.
